Travel into history with Piyalepaşa Istanbul Sahaf Days

The historical Piyalepaşa neighborhood in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul will embrace art and culture with a second-hand book event titled "Piyalepaşa Sahaf Days."

Having been designed in the historical Piyalepaşa neighborhood of the historic district of Beyoğlu, which dates back 500 years, the event aims to enliven culture and art activities for history and book lovers.

In cooperation with the Foundation of Secondhand Booksellers Union, the event plans to embrace the area's cultural heritage and bring a breath of fresh air to the neighborhood.

There will be more than 20 stands that will display books at the event, which will host culture, art and literature lovers, and there will also be book auctions and interviews from many acclaimed writers.

Books from Nazım Hikmet's house will be on display, along with other special books such as the first "Nutuk" (The Speech) by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the first anatomy book of the Ottoman Empire published in 1820.

Bookworms can see these books at the event at Piyalepaşa Istanbul Sales Office between Sept. 9 and Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
