Turkey’s population on the rise
Turkey’s population, as of the end of 2010, increased by 15.88 to every 1,000, reaching a total figure of 73,722,988.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the 2010 population results taken from the 'Address Based Population Registration System'.Accordingly, in 2010 an increase of 1,161,676 in the population compared to 2009's figure of 72,561,312 equates to a total population figure for 2010 at 73,722,988.In 2010, out of 81 districts, 53 saw an increase in population, whereas 28 districts' population figures decreased. The districts that have the highest population rates are listed in order as follows: Bilecik, Isparta and Erzincan, whereas the districts that show the lowest population numbers are Tunceli, Çankırı and Ardahan.
