“We are impressed by Turkey’s dynamism”

Belgian Crown Prince Philippe praised Turkey’s economy, calling its dynamism and achievements a source of inspiration for other countries during an address at the Turkey-Belgium Business Forum.



Speaking at the Turkey-Belgium Business Forum on Thursday, Prince Philippe said that Turkey's economic growth over the past decade has been impressive. "There have even been times the growth rate has made the double digits. The quality and dynamism of your labor force truly impresses us," Prince Philippe told participants at the Turkey-Belgium Business Forum, held by Turkey's Foreign Economic Affairs Relations Board (DEİK).

The Crown Prince went on to share that it is this dynamism and experience in Turkey's economy that is an inspiration other nation and recalled that since his last trip to Turkey in May of 2004, Turkey's gross domestic product has practically doubled.

Crown Prince Philippe arrived to Istanbul on Monday accompanied by a large delegation of more than 300 businesspeople representing 200 Belgian firms.

Belgian Princess Mathilde also accompanied Philippe on his trip to Turkey and the two even paid a visit to Topkapi Palace. On Wednesday, Princess Mathilde visited an Istanbul nursing home opened by Senior Assist Medical Services in Beylikdüzü.
