HSBC Turkey announces hacking of 2.7 million customer information


HSBC Turkey announced on Wednesday that 2.7 million customers' information have been hacked in a cyber-attack.The bank said in a statement that the attack on credit cards and debit cards systems was identified and stopped; however, 2.7 million customers' account numbers, card expiry dates and card holder information were reached by the hackers."There is no financial risk to our customers and there has been no evidence of any fraud or other suspicious activity arising from this incident" the bank said in the statement. "Our customers may continue to perform all banking transactions with HSBC as usual."HSBC started an investigation over the issue in cooperation with the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency.
