U.S. Chamber of Commerce to open office in Turkey


The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is opening an office in Istanbul that will serve as the central office for the region. The office will open on Nov. 18 at 11:00 a.m. with a ceremony that the assistant chairman for International Relations of the American Chamber of Commerce, Myron Brilliant, and the American Consul General in Istanbul, Chuck Hunter, will attend within the scope of the cooperation between the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The office will be known as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Regional Office - Istanbul and will be located in the TOBB building in Levent. It will support the U.S.-Turkey Business Council, which has 40 major Turkish investors and undertakes projects for improving commercial and investment relations between the two countries, and the office will also search for collaboration opportunities between the Turkish and the American private sectors. The regional office will issue a 2015 common business strategy of the TOBB and U.S. Chamber of Commerce and will work on establishing commercial committees, preparing political analyses and suggestions and increasing regional commerce.
