The Confederation of Turkish Labor Unions (Türk-İş) announced the hunger and poverty threshold for a family of four in March. The hunger threshold, which includes food costs for an adequate and balanced diet for a family of four, is TL 1,301 ($501.79) per month. The poverty threshold, which includes the total spending needed for food, accommodation, rent, electricity, water and fuel, transportation, education, health and similar needs, is TL 4,238.
