Agriculture PPI rose 2.48 percent in March


The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced the March Producer Price Index (PPI) of agricultural products. According to the index, in March 2015 the agricultural PPI increased by 2.48 percent compared to the previous month and rose by 15.4 percent against the same month the previous year and by 11.65 percent on the 12-month moving average.Agriculture and hunting products increased by 3.11 percent, forestry products increased by 0.67 percent and fishing decreased by 16.03 percent.The highest monthly increase was observed in perennial crops. In a change from the previous month, there was an increase of non-perennial crops of 3.54 percent, perennial crops of 4.93 percent and livestock and animal products of 1.22 percent.In March 2015 there was an increase for vegetables and melons, roots and tubers of 6.45 percent, citrus of 13.45 percent and oleaginous fruits decreased by 1.83 percent
