THY ‘Best Airline of Europe' 5th time in a row

The Skytrax Passenger Choice Awards named Turkish Airlines (THY) the "Best Airline of Europe" for the fifth consecutive year. The award ceremony took place at the Paris Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center, and Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted handed the award to THY General Manager Temel Kotil. THY also received the "Best Business Class Airline Lounge" and "Best Business Class Lounge Dining" honors. Following the Skytrax review in 2007, THY was pronounced a 4-star airline. THY is currently one of the major global network carriers with the world's fourth largest flight network including 261 destination cities around the world and the greatest country coverage among all airlines from 108 countries. THY's headquarters are located in Istanbul, which provides the company with a tremendous geographic advantage that translates into competitive superiority. The THY fleet consists of 261 aircraft as of December 2014, and it plans to increase its fleet to 439 aircraft by 2021.
