Turkish e-passports to bear e-covers of Gemalto


Leading Dutch digital security company Gemalto announced Tuesday that it is supplying electronic covers for the Turkish Mint and Stamp Printing House (Darphane) to be used in Turkey's electronic passports introduced in 2010. A statement issued on the company's website stated that through this new deal, Gemalto will be able to provide Turkish authorities with a complete end-to-end passport service. Gemalto already provides Turkey with a variety of other services."The Turkish ePassport's new and secure software will enhance the overall travel experience for Turkish citizens," said Tommi Nordberg, senior vice president of Government Programs for Europe, Central Asia and Turkey at Gemalto. "We will continue to further develop our products and provide Turkish governmental agencies with the most cutting edge technology."
