TEİAŞ to invest TL 10B in electrical transmission lines


The Turkish Electrical Transmission Company (TEİAŞ) will spend a total of TL 10.2 billion ($3.58 billion) on the construction of 14 electrical transmission lines by the end of 2019. According to data released by the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry, TEİAŞ is planning to include a total of 14 more electrical transmission lines in the system between 2016 and 2019.

While TEİAŞ's total investment allocation was approximately TL 2.3 billion ($807 million) in 2015, it is expected to reach TL 2.5 billion ($878 million) this year. The company will spend a total of TL 10.2 billion with an average allocation of TL 2.5 billion annually for the construction of 154 and 380 KW electrical transmission lines.

TEİAŞ is planning to activate four main transmission lines as of the end of 2017. Accordingly, the company will safely transfer the power of the production plants in Zonguldak to the İzmit- Istanbul region in June, also completing the construction of the Osmanca-Ada 2-Paşaköy Electrical Transmission Line.

In order to prevent potential cuts in 2019, TEİAŞ has been working on projects for the construction of 10 electrical transmission lines within the scope of its "Mid-Period Action Plan." Hereunder, the works in order to designate the route of the Bartın-Akçakoca-Çekmeköy Electrical Transmission Line are in progress.
