Spanish magazine awards THY for globalization efforts


The Spanish Ejecutivos magazine, which is closely followed by the country's business community, has presented awards to both Turkish Airlines (THY) and the Turkish Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency (ISPAT) for their contributions to the globalization of Spanish companies.Turkey's ambassador to Madrid, Ömer Önhon, attended the award ceremony alongside businessmen and local administrators at Rafael Atocha Hotel in Madrid. Ejecutivos deemed 19 companies, institutions and businessmen worthy of prizes in different categories. This year was the 26th time for the award ceremony to be held.Ejecutivos presented awards to ISPAT and THY for providing opportunities and making important contributions to the internationalization of Spanish companies.Yasemen Korukçu, the ISPAT representative in Spain, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that this prize would further promote ISPAT's work in the country and make a significant contribution to business and investment relations between Spain and Turkey. Korukçu also said that ISPAT has been in Spain since 2009, adding, "We are so glad to have been deemed worthy of such a prize as a result of our presence and work in Spain."THY's Madrid office director, Yahya Zahid Şensoy, said the award is due to THY's efforts and achievements. "This is the second award that we have received from Spain this year after the one given by La Razon newspaper," he happily added.THY has had operations in Spain for 31 years and offers 32 flights each week to five Spanish destinations - Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia and Malaga. Şensoy said the seat occupancy rate in THY's flights to Spain is very pleasing, continuing that THY is now building on its good relations with the country through the company's sponsors.
