Four Turks on Forbes billionaires list


Forbes magazine published its list of the world's richest people Friday, which includes four businessmen from Turkey. Murat Ülker, chairman for one of the world's largest food industries under the Ülker brand with a fortune worth of $3 billion, was followed by Fiba Holding Chairman Hüsnü Özyeğin with $2.5 billion, Doğuş Holding Chairman Ferit Şahenk with $2.4 billion and Rahmi Koç, businessman and honorary board member of Koç Holding, with $2.2 billion.

Bill Gates, the founder of technology giant Microsoft, ranked first with a fortune worth of $78 billion. He is followed by Amancio Ortega, the founder of Spanish clothing and accessories retailer Zara, with $73.1 billion. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos moved to third-richest person in the world, with an estimated personal wealth of $65.3 billion.

Bezos experienced the highest jump on the list, as his company has been going through very successful times. It has achieved its best-ever quarterly profits, worth $857 million, up from $92 million for the same period last year, according to a press release published by the online giant Thursday.
