African ministers to gather in Turkey for agriculture forum

The Turkey-Africa First Agriculture Ministers Meeting and Agribusiness Forum will be held on Thursday and Friday in the Mediterranean resort province of Antalya.

The two-day event, organized by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, will host more than 300 participants, including agricultural ministers of African countries, ambassadors, representatives of international organizations and the private sector.

The Foreign Economic Relations Board, the Central Union of Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives and Turkish Airlines are among the main stakeholders of the event.

The ministers' meeting will be held with the theme, "Turkey-Africa Partnership on Rural Development for Achieving Food Security." The forum will provide an opportunity to share Turkey's experiences in agriculture and livestock.

It will also strengthen the current state of cooperation between Turkey and Africa, along with promotion of trade relations. During the event, business-to-business meetings will be held to enhance trade relations, agribusiness volume and expand investments between Turkey and Africa.

The forum, on its sideline, will also hold several events on agricultural financing and credits, agricultural mechanization and irrigation systems, climate resilience, agricultural trade and investment, agricultural inputs, agro-industry, youth employment and women in rural development, plus food and nutrition security.
