THY expands luggage-carrying services

Turkish Airlines (THY) has expanded the scope of its Miniport application, which provides its passengers with a luggage transportation service between Atatürk Airport and Taksim for comfortable travel. Now THY passengers will be able to leave their baggage at the agreed hotels and move freely before and after their flight.

With the application, which was initially launched in May 2016, THY passengers can deliver their luggage to the Miniport office at Atatürk Airport upon their arrival in Istanbul or to the office in Taksim after hotel checkouts, enabling them to participate in events such as fairs, meetings, sightseeing or shopping during the day while their luggage is being transported via the Miniport. With the new agreements, THY will start to provide pick-up service from the airport to the hotel and back.

Along with the new agreements, the application will be offered to passengers at the Marriott, The Ritz Carlton and Pera Palace. If passengers are staying at one of the specified destinations before or after the flight, they will be able to gain time in between by deli

vering their luggage to the hotel reception or to the Miniport's offices. The Miniport will not apply to passengers traveling to the United States, Israel, Canada, or the United Kingdom, which are destinations that require special safety criteria.

THY Product and Service Management Department Manager Emre Çevik said they will be offering their passengers more time to spend in Istanbul with the Miniport service and that they are including the services of luggage claim and luggage delivery from the agreed hotels within the scope of the application as of Wednesday.
