German cleaning equipment seller to start producing in Turkey


Germany-based cleaning equipment manufacturer Kärcher plans to start production operations in Turkey within the next two years. The company currently operates in 65 companies with 50,000 stores and 40,000 distributors, according to a report by Turkish daily Dünya.Kärcher has 24 production and logistics facilities across the world and after securing growth in the Turkish market to some extent, the company aims to start manufacturing its products in Turkey, eyeing a turnover of 3 billion euro by 2020.

Kärcher Turkey General Manager Gökhan Hasan Gökmen said that the company runs production operations in Germany, Italy, Romania, China, the U.S., Mexico and Brazil and has five logistics facilities in Germany, China, the U.S. and Malaysia. Gökmen announced that Kärcher plans to add Turkey to its logistics and production network.

After seeing positive developments in Turkey, Kärcher expedited its research and development (R&D) operations in the country, Gökmen stated. According to the general manager, Kärcher recorded a 2.33 billion euro turnover in 2016 and grew 79 percent during a seven-year period from 2009 to 2016.
