Pakistan on Tuesday successfully test-launched an extended-range version of its Fatah-4 ground-launched cruise missile, marking a new step in the country’s missile development program.
The domestically-produced missile was equipped with advanced avionics and state of the art navigational aids, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army's media wing.
The weapon system is capable of engaging targets at extended ranges with high precision and lethality, it added.
The test also "validated additional technical parameters of various sub-systems incorporated for improved accuracy and enhanced survivability."
The launch was witnessed by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir as well as senior military officers, scientists and engineers.
