Short film fest encourages young talents


Initiated by students for students around the world, the International Kısakes Short Film Festival is set to bring movie buffs, international cinema professionals and young film makers together in Istanbul between Sept. 27 and 30. Young directors who are chosen among 1,470 short film projects from 101 different countries will show their films in Istanbul and convene with cinema lovers at Ortaköy Orphanage and Saint Benoit French High School. This year, festival goers will have a chance to watch a special selection for festival competition and short films of world-renowned and award-winning short film directors. Furthermore, viewers will be a part of the competition by voting for their favorite films.Apart from screenings, the festival will also host masterclasses where prominent Turkish and international film makers will share their experiences, hold workshops and panel sessions. Young film makers and art lovers will come together with major figures from the cinema sector during various organizations held as a part of the International Kısakes Short Film Festival. The festival's pitching and project development platform will support young directors' original ideas.
