11 foreign movies at Adana Film Festival

The Adana Film Festival, which is organized by Adana Metropolitan Municipality and known as one of the most significant film festivals in Turkey, is being held for the 24th time this year. It continues to maintain its tradition at home and is gaining ground to be one of the world-standard film festivals abroad. Accordingly, it opened an International Full-Length Film Contest category for the first time this year.

The films in the contest will be chosen among those that entered the main contest lists of international film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Karlovy Vary, Sundance, Rotterdam, Locarno and San Sebastian and are making their premiers in Turkey.

Andrey Zvyagintsev, Ruben Östlund, Martin McDonagh, Yorgos Lanthimos, Sebastian Lelio and Sergei Loznitsa are directors who have been on the rise in the last 10 to 15 years. Their films will compete with each other. Films that won awards at Cannes, Venice, Rotterdam, Berlin and Karlovy Vary will bring the "champions' league" of film festivals. In the International Full-Length Film Contest where 11 films are being evaluated, two Altın Koza prizes will be given to winners at the Grand Prize Ceremony that will be held on Saturday.
