Societal apathy, mental blindness, media slavery...There is an end to everything. At some point down the road, you slowly, painfully come to terms with the truth. It seems to me that Israel's most recent attacks against Gaza will have repercussions of this nature on the streets of Western cities. If you push just hard enough, reaching a tipping point is inevitable.Surely enough, Israel does push hard and pro-Israel media, despite all its glory, falls short of persuading the masses. BBC's biased coverage of the Gaza attacks received harsh criticism on the streets of the U.K. as well as in social media from not only Muslim immigrants but also white Westerners. And the latter group grows each passing day.For four decades, I have closely watched the European streets to observe the reverberations of the Palestinian cause in the West and to capture the indecision of Europeans about grasping the Palestinian population's concerns.My gut tells me what we are witnessing today is completely different. The tide is finally turning. An important development of the past week was that the Jewish diaspora in European capitals and the U.S. intensified their protests against Israel's actions.Let us first recall the controversial statement that Ayelet Shaked, an ultra-fascist member of the Israeli Knesset, made on her Facebook page: "They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now, this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just."She did not stop there and added: "This is not a war against terror, and not a war against extremists, and not even a war against Palestinian Authority. The reality is that this is a war between two people. Who is the enemy? The Palestinian people."When the word got out, anyone with a hint of common sense grasped instantly that the dark side of Israel grows with each passing day. This is an undeniable fact that we can no longer afford to ignore.The other day, upon reading Mira Bar Hilel's "Why I'm on the brink of burning my Israeli passport" in the Independent, I thought about former BBC Panorama presenter Alan Hart, who famously protested Western media turning a blind eye to the Palestinian cause. I rushed to pick up "Zionism: The Real Enemy of the Jews," Hart's stunning account of the history of Israel, from the bookshelf, and found what I was looking for: Hart's note about the joy of 800 people, most of them Jews, showing up at a conference on Jan. 25, 2005 that shared the title of his book. Let me repeat: Just 800 people.But Hart viewed the crowd as follows: "We had witnessed a moment pregnant with hope for the future. Why so? Because the silence of mainstream diaspora Jews on the matter of the Zionist state's behaviour had been broken. But it soon became clear to me that this pregnancy is going to be very long and difficult one."Let us now turn to the present, approximately nine years after the day Hart wrote the above line. Let us turn and see thousands of Jews taking to the streets of New York City to speak against the massacres of Zionists in Israel.The picture is quite clear if you are willing to see. The tide of history is rapidly turning. No longer can Israel mislead and brainwash ordinary people of the world. Zionism, without a doubt, pours fuel on the flame of its own hell with each bomb targeting Gaza and its people.
