The more cruelty in Palestine, the less justice in the world

When World War I ended, Western countries occupied most Islamic regions. The occupying forces shared the booty among themselves, which was mostly the areas of the former Ottoman Empire. Thus, the emergent colonial empire extended to such an extent that its borders stretched from Morocco to Crimea and from the Balkans to North Africa and the Middle East.

Under the yoke of colonial aspirations, the Islamic world had begun to lose its own codes of life. As colonizers attempted to eliminate anything associated with the Islamic world, the Muslim peoples' religion, history, culture, customs and state traditions had all fallen into danger of extinction. In order to substitute the fundamental values of the Islamic world, colonizers forced modern Western culture through mass media. In addition, the Westernist intelligentsia of the Islamic world, who were educated in Western countries, contributed to the advance of cultural imperialism in their home countries.

In this context, Islam has been represented as a reactionary force, which by its very nature hinders progress. The Ottomans have been demonized through the very policies that the Ottoman state shared with many other Western states. The process of the revitalization of Islam after the 1980s has been condemned as a reactionary movement, just like Islam has been represented as essentially jihadist. On the other hand, constructive emotions of fraternity and solidarity among Muslim people were counteracted by the propagation of destructive emotions of sectarianism. Since the British Empire's occupation of India, Western powers aimed at ruling over the Muslim world through a process of controlled chaos. In this respect, the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) provides the best example for the transformation of a Muslim community into a full-fledged terrorist organization of spies. What is worse, Muslims continue to fight against each other in many Muslim countries such as Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq and Nigeria.

A retired ambassador conveyed that when Barrack Obama took over the U.S. presidency andat one point expressed sympathy with the Palestinian cause. As Palestine is the heart of the globe, Obama said, the world's problems cannot be resolved until there is an ultimate resolution to the Palestinian crisis.

By the fall of the Ottoman Empire after World War I, the British Empire concentrated its occupation in the Middle East, including the holy city of Jerusalem. The migration of Jewish people to Palestine was pushed by the United Kingdom until 1948 when Israel emerged as an independent state. While Palestinians territories have dramatically been shrinking, Israel's cruelty has been steadily escalating. It is as if Israel wants to take revenge for the Holocaust perpetrated by the murderous Nazi regime, by carrying out a new genocide on Muslims.

The new world order has not been less just and more humane than the old world order. Thus, we have to stand against global injustice by raising our voices again: The more cruelty in Palestine, the less justice in the world.
