At least the Dutch politician is sincere

It seems the only honest and sincere person in all this mess is the Dutch far right-wing Freedom Party (PVV) leader Geert Wilders, who openly said he feels sad because the coup attempt in Turkey failed

Once again Western countries have started to see that they are now landed with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his administration in Turkey and are pretending that they can live with this.

U.S. President Barack Obama and his Vice President Joe Biden have been praising Turkey's democracy and trying to mend fences with Erdoğan. They have praised the courage of the Turkish people who stood up to the tanks and foiled a bloody coup attempt. They have lauded Turkey's democracy and the loyalty of the Turkish masses to civilized values.

However, on the other hand U.S. Ambassador to Turkey John Bass is busy displaying his utter disregard for Turkey's survival. He knows well why the Turkish state has been forced to send government-appointed administrators to 24 PKK-backed municipalities that have been infested with separatist terrorism. Yet he prefers to voice his concern over the dismissal of the militant municipalities which have been involved in the PKK uprising in Turkey's southeastern cities and municipalities during the summer months. It seems he would welcome the municipalities to continue being run by the separatists and thus pave the way for Turkey's division.

So it seems while Obama and Biden are putting up a play the U.S. ambassador is in fact following the policies of his administration that is not in Turkey's interests... If this is not so then the Americans should tell us what the real picture is. All we need is some sincerity.

Then of course there is the case of German Chancellor Angela Merkel who has been telling the Germans that Europe should be more attentive to the problems of Turkey and has asked publicly what the Germans would do if their parliament (the Bundestag) was bombed by coup plotters as was the case in Turkey. She has praised the courage and resilience of the Turkish people.

Yet, on the other hand the Germans continue to pay lip service to PKK separatists. PKK supporters rally in the streets of Germany freely in the name of freedom of expression while Germany still insists it regards the PKK as a terrorist organization. Yet the same German authorities put up all kinds of obstacles for a pro-Erdoğan rally in Cologne and blocked an address of Erdoğan to the crowd via satellite.

So the Germans like other European politicians should stop treating us to crocodile tears and be honest and sincere...

It seems the only honest and sincere person in all this mess is the Dutch far right wing Freedom Party (PVV) leader Geert Wilders, who openly said he feels sad because the coup attempt in Turkey failed. Speaking at a special session of the Dutch parliament on the July 15 coup attempt and the ensuing events, Wilders said, "We would have had a world without Erdoğan and I would be very happy to see this."

Christian Democratic Party (CDA) leader Sybrand van Haersma Buma hit back and told Wilders "this is where democracy is represented. Whether we like it or not this coup attempt was against an elected leader and an elected administration. What would you have experienced if the coup had been successful?" After saying this his party offered to lift the dual nationality rights for Turks and also offered to shelve Turkey's EU full membership negotiations which was a complete contradiction. One would have expected the Christian Democrats to praise the courage of the Turkish masses that foiled the coup and say this country in essence deserves to be a part of the family of the civilized nations of Europe. So "sincerity" does not seem to be a popular word in the dictionary of the Western countries.
