World leaders will listen in embarrassment when President Erdoğan talks about their silence over the refugee crisis and the bloody July 15 coup attempt

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is off to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly. The president will address the assembly and important summits on refugees and terrorism. He will also hold important bilateral meetings with other presidents and prime ministers. This time Erdoğan will do much of the talking and many of his counterparts will listen to him in deep embarrassment. Why? Simply because world leaders have failed to show any true attention to the mounting problems of refugees, especially in the Middle East, and have failed to display any real solidarity with Turkey since it suffered a bloody coup attempt on July 15.When Erdoğan addresses the world leaders he will be the proud leader of a nation that stood up to tanks, armored vehicles, attack helicopters and F-16 fighters and foiled a coup attempt by officers affiliated to the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ). He will explain to the United Nations the true face of FETÖ. He will also warn world leaders that their countries are also under threat by the sinister FETÖ. It is clear that FETÖ has infiltrated the state systems of many countries and has also become a menace for them.World leaders failed to rally behind Turkey during this ordeal and most of them are now feeling remorse. Erdoğan heard their apologies during the G20 summit in China recently and will now hear more from other leaders in the U.N. corridors and during his bilateral meetings.Erdoğan will also tell world leaders about Turkey's fight against DAESH, both in Turkey and in Syria. He will explain that Turkish forces have entered Syria because DAESH created a security threat to Turkish border towns and that because Damascus could not control these areas it was up to Ankara to take matters into its own hands and start finishing off DAESH. Erdoğan can boast that the Turkish forces have wiped away DAESH from our border areas in less than 10 days and has secured the area with the help of the Free Syrian Army (FSA). Turkey reclaimed the Syrian city of Jarablus in only 12 hours while the Democratic Union Party (PYD) forces could not finish the job in several months. He will also stress that Turkey is the leading country in the world in putting up an effective fight against DAESH while most other countries only pretend to be struggling against these terrorists.Erdoğan will call attention to the plight of the Syrian refugees who have been forced to flee their country and seek refuge in Turkey. In the past five years, the number of Syrians seeking shelter in Turkey has passed the 3 million mark and Turkey has won international praise for providing excellent facilities for them. Erdoğan will proudly tell the world how Turkey has spent $22 billion and is continuing to spend more money for the Syrians while the U.N. has only been able to provide $500 million for these people. The European Union, which pledged to extend aid worth $3 billion, has failed to send a penny.Turkey has also successfully stemmed the tide of Syrian refugees trying to cross the Aegean Sea and invade the Greek islands. So Erdoğan has much to talk about and others leaders have much to contemplate.
