HDP deputy admits working with PKK

The PKK recently murdered a village teacher on the highway between Tunceli and Pülümür in eastern Turkey. The incident created an uproar in the country.

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Gürsel Erol vehemently condemned the murder and the PKK in an address to Parliament. He lauded the efforts of the security forces to curb PKK terrorism and called for national unity and solidarity to combat terrorism in Turkey. He said the fact that the murder occurred in the province he represents is a great shame for Tunceli.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called Erol and thanked him for his statement and sensitivity he displayed to confront terrorism.

This was all a blow to the PKK terrorist organization, which has been waging a secessionist war for nearly the past four decades.

On Wednesday, Erol addressed Parliament again and said the PKK had issued a call for his death: "They are saying kill him wherever possible. I will not budge from anything that I know is right. When HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Deputy Pervin Buldan was taken into custody, I opposed it from this rostrum. When a teacher is murdered in my province, I have to stand against it. So when I make such a move they call for my execution. Now tell me who would you call a fascist?"

Erol said he requests HDP deputies condemn the PKK decision to execute him and turned to HDP deputies in Parliament and said: "As I opposed the lifting of your parliamentary immunities yesterday, as I opposed you being jailed pending trial and as I opposed the treatment you were subjected to, now will you come up to this rostrum with courage and determination and criticize the execution order issued against me by the PKK? If you are to defend the respectability of Parliament, the respectability of deputies, then you should not differentiate between any deputy. I cannot go to all parts and corners of my province because of security concerns."

HDP Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder responded by taking the stand and saying that he is privy to the whole issue and instead of condemning the PKK killing the teacher and condemning the PKK decision to kill Erol, he responded by saying all human life is valuable for the HDP, and then said: "Come outside and I will tell you what has been said about you in Qandil [the PKK headquarters in the northern Iraqi mountains]. You called upon Qandil before the elections and I personally am a witness to how PKK leaders [Mustafa] Karasu and [Rıza] Altun responded to you."

Önder insulted Erol and said his stance is artificial.

Önder made two colossal mistakes by answering Erol this way. This exchange showed that firstly, the HDP is completely a political extension of the PKK terrorist organization and Önder is in constant contact with the murderers in Qandil. So he is a part of the murderous gangs.

The other fact is that the HDP has no intention of giving up its support for terrorism and violence.

Önder has only displayed the sorrowful state of the Kurdish political movement in Turkey.
