Sledgehammer ruling ushers in a new way of thinking

A new period has been begun in Turkey now that all the Sledgehammer suspects have been released. We need to be vigilant in order to make a careful analysis of this period and not to leave any room for failure. The people who legitimize coups live under military tutelage and construct influence from the balance of power of old Turkey, the latter being an accurate decription of the eviction order which displayed the failure of the lawsuit process highlighted by the Ergenekon case. What is worse, such people are making remarks as if there was no action which would be a litigious question. One should not be deceived by these false comments otherwise, it will be an act of inviting old pro-tutelage powers into Turkey once again and encouraging them.In the Sledgehammer case, a message has been sent which is serving as a tool for illegal autonomous structures within the judiciary. A certain group of the General Staff plotted against the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) attempting to topple it when it first came to power. To this end, they organized various seminars and meetings. The senior staff of the AK Party, and Erdoğan in particular, witnessed the atmosphere of those days and what happened in the National Security Council meetings. However, this message unfortunately was manipulated by a structure which has infiltrated the judiciary and the police using it as grounds upon which they can release their cronies through producing fabricated evidence. Thus, a large number of people from the lower level who had nothing to do with this intrigue were added to this group of schemers and imprisoned. The verdict issuing the release of the imprisoned personnel in the Sledgehammer case is a clear indicator that there is some mechanism for producing falsified evidence and some method for mishandling lawsuits. This, at the same time is the answer of the Constitutional Court against the judiciary, a central institution under miltary tutelage. It should not be forgotten that to bring such an answer was made possible through the referendum in 2010, initiated by the AK Party to make some amendments to the constitution. These amendments laid open the way for the right of personal appeal to the Constitutional Court, an amendment the suspects used in the court in order to regain their freedom. It is ironic that these suspects and the Republican People's Party (CHP) proponents, who abused their freedom as a political material to gossip over it and strived much to take Turkey back to old days dominated by pro-tutelage faction, had voted against that referendum. Had those "no" votes outweighed, the Sledgehammer suspects would still be in prison today. The Sledgehammer case should be a lesson for Turkey. It paved the way for confronting coups on the one hand and put an end to a number of unlawful matters on the other. From now on, it is not possible to prevent coups and unearth shady issues such as "deep state" matters. Pandora's Box has been opened. Those who endorse unlawful matters and put people in prison by fabricating evidence should be brought forward to clear all uncertainties. Those who attempted to cleanse Turkey turned out to be tricksters themselves therefore, as true democrats, we need to observe whether this cleansing process is practiced in due form.
