There have been numerous phone calls from Ankara to Moscow in efforts to reconstruct the damaged ties between the two countries. Ankara has been busy trying to initiate a dialogue with the Russian administration at the highest level to repair relations between the two countries. However, the attitude of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which can be called adolescent or immature, puts a barrier in front of any possible dialogue between Ankara and Moscow. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has made successive attempts to get in contact with his Russian counterpart to solve the crisis but to no avail.

Diplomacy and international relations, as a concept, are based on realistic approaches taken by states in order to continue to live harmoniously.

Instead of looking for ways to establish a new era of relations, Russia is investing in the escalation of tension in the region. And Russia is playing a very dangerous game, supporting the atrocities committed by Syrian President Bashar Assad.

The Kremlin has become a loyal partner to murder in the region, and, by encircling Aleppo along with Iranian and Syrian regime forces, the Russian administration has increased the number of tragedies, deaths and refugees.

For the time being, the priorities of the Western alliance appear to be shelved and Moscow's goals are quickly being realized. Assad remains in his seat of power and an Iranian-Russian front is being strengthened against the Western powers. The United States is not in a position to challenge its long-term rival, Russia.

Will the game continue under these rules? When we look at official NATO statements, Russia is in a delicate position: all players are involved in complicated calculations, the Syrian and Iraqi Kurds are in pinned in opposition and NATO and the United States gives contradictory reactions.

A new equation is formed in the region bringing the most weighted question to the agenda after years of unsatisfactory "efforts" to topple Assad: Assad or DAESH?

The legitimacy of combatting the Assad atrocity is arguably disappearing day by day...

Cards are being distributed again and again during the Syrian crisis which has persisted for half a decade.

At this point, the economic crisis in Russia should not be put aside while making predictions for the future of the ongoing Syrian dilemma.

Perhaps someone is cementing efforts to strengthen the necessary weak ground in the region for long-term goals, once more declaring the real super power of the globe.

Is there any reason to forget the fatal competition between the super powers?

Russia should, once more, remember the century-long competition...

Or should we doubt the sincerity of the official remarks of the pivots?

As a journalistic rule, news in not in the remarks made but in the remarks which are never mentioned...

Let us continue monitoring the drives of the regional players...

And hope that at the end of the day, logic will be the winner of this war of nerves...
