Erdoğan's visit to Africa marks a new approach

Accompanied by nearly 130 business figures, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid a second visit to the East African countries of Uganda, Kenya and Somalia following a recent visit to Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Guinea in West Africa.

Key ministers accompanied Erdoğan on the visits, including Deputy Prime Minister Veysi Kaynak, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, as well as figures from Turkey's humanitarian institutions such as Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA) head Serdar Çam and Kerem Kınık of the Turkish Red Crescent were among the Turkish delegation.

Following centuries-long Western policies, African states are currently experiencing a post-modern style of Western colonialism.

Theoretically, the Western world's colonialism is over, but it now has a sharper colonialist policy thanks to the technological development of our age, which colonizes public opinion.

Still, the resources from these countries are the Western world's main concern, and not the people living in these states.

Erdoğan, however, initiated a new approach toward African countries since the beginning of his mandate first as a prime minister and later as a president.

Based on the principles of the prosperity of the people of these countries, Erdoğan is engaging in well-prepared humanitarian diplomacy toward African countries.

Initially, the number of Turkey's diplomatic missions on the continent was tripled. And Ankara has a goal to open diplomatic missions in all 54 African countries.

Personally encouraged by Erdoğan , businessmen are also searching for ways to develop business opportunities in these countries.

The poverty in these countries and the people's standard of living is a prior concern for Turkey, as humanitarian aid, health and education will be the main ground of work. Ankara will continue to take further steps to ensure the security of these countries

The president and first lady Emine Erdoğan took a personal initiative to encourage African people to explore their own capacities.

Turkey's African opening will continue to go further with a new chain of visits. The image of Somali women in colorful dresses welcoming Turkish delegations with Turkish flags in their hands was the proof of the people's satisfaction there.

IS HAKAN FIDAN LEAVING HIS POSITION?

It was rumored that the head of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), Hakan Fidan, was leaving his position and was appointed as ambassador to Japan, in a tweet shared by a member of the Gülenist terror network, while the Turkish delegation was in Somalia...

It came out at the moment of Friday prayers when Fidan was in the mosque in the courtyard of the new Turkish Embassy complex in Somalia with Erdoğan and other members of the Turkish delegation.

As the undersecretary of the MİT was also a part of the Turkish delegation in Africa, the claim, which became a trending topic on Twitter, was nothing more than nonsense.

Surrounded by a group of journalists, presidential spokesman İbrahim Kalın and leading Turkish intelligence figures smiled at the cameras in the Turkish Embassy's grounds in Somalia.

Fidan also denied the reports of his appointment to Tokyo in a satirical way, confirming that he does not like Japanese food, according to the news reported by the journalists there.
