Terror as a card of Western diplomacy toward Turkey
Another day full of pain, anger and shock following a terrorist attack that killed nearly 40 people, mostly police personnel.
I started to write the article for Daily Sabah in a mood full of anger and sorrow. It is a sunny December day, contrary to seasonal averages, in which it is impossible to take deep breath in the aftermath of the deadly terrorist attack in Istanbul.
There were two explosions in the Beşiktaş-Taksim district near a stadium just after a football match which brought together nearly 30,000 people.
Of course, the initial feelings of despair will be replaced with the clear determination of the Turkish people to combat terrorism.
As I write this article in a cafe in Baltalimanı, Istanbul, I am watching the live news on TV channels. The funeral ceremony held at Istanbul's Police Headquarters was attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.
Yet it is the words of Mustafa Çalışkan, the head of Istanbul's Police Department, at that ceremony that still eche in my mind.
Istanbul's heroic chief security official, who was proved himself instrumental in the defeat of the putschists on the night of the July 15 coup attempt, was asking those behind the terror attack: "Whose dog are you? Who are you working for?"
The main question was being raised by Çalışkan, unable to hide his pain at losing his colleagues in the terror attack.
Terrorist networks targeting Turkey are being sheltered by Turkey's Western allies. That's not a secret. Western diplomacy is using the terror card against Turkey to put political pressure on Ankara.
Prime Minister Yıldırım declared that it is probably the PKK which has conducted the terrorist attack. And Daesh has recently threatened Turkey and declared that Turkey and Turkish representations will also be targeted.
The Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) also took the oath to topple the country's president and prepare conditions for the invasion of Turkey by foreign actors.
The Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (MLKP) and various terrorist networks are in collaboration not only with other terrorist groups, but they are also being protected by Western countries.
None of the official demands by for the extradition of terrorists is receiving a positive response from its Western allies. Moreover, a German minister audaciously declared that everybody in the opposition against Turkey would be protected by Germany.
At the ceremony organized by the Star Media Group, just hours before Saturday night's terror attack, President Erdoğan declared in his speech that on the night of July 15, the Turkish people once more liberated their homeland.
Erdoğan also made references to the threats against himself personally, planning a fate for him similar to that of former Prime Minister Adnan Menderes, who was executed following a coup and death sentence.
He said that those threats were not baseless. Since 2013, a chain of operations have been conducted by Western powers in alliance with many terror networks to realize a shift in the Turkish political spectrum. A very brutal, bloody operation.
We know that those powers will not stop and will accelerate operations until the Turkish people's free choices will be replaced by their decisions. Well, the people of these lands are very well determined to live for their honor.
