Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has signed a 10-year agreement with the U.S. aircraft manufacturer Sikorsky in Ankara on Tuesday, for the production of various components used in military helicopter models.

The agreement was signed in Ankara with the participation of TAI's CEO Temel Kotil and Dan Schultz, the president of Sikorsky Aircraft Company.

TAI and Sikorsky agreed upon a total delivery worth $270 million during the first 10-year phase of the project.

The two parties also intend to extend cooperation until 2044, reaching a total volume of $500 million.

The most important agreement between TAI and Sikorsky was made in 2016, when the two companies established a plan for the delivery of 109 S-70 model helicopters by 2020, which will be produced in Ankara-based facilities.
