Otokar to showcase products at int'l defense fair

Turkish land systems manufacturer Otokar is scheduled to attend Defense and Security Equipment International (DSEI), one of Europe's largest defense industry and security events, to be held in London from Sept. 12-15.

Otokar will exhibit its ARMA 8x8 armored combat vehicle, which has high mobility, mines and a ballistic protection system, and its ÜÇOK tower system, which it has developed for armored combat vehicles and which can use three major weapons on the same platform, to international users at the fair. Bringing together the world's defense giants, the event is being held in six different categories, including ground forces, naval forces, air forces, security and special forces.

Otokar has been dedicating 4 percent of its turnover to research and development for the past 10 years and its defense industry products, the intellectual property rights of which belong to the company itself, are serving in more than 30 countries in five continents, Otokar General Manager Serdar Görgüç said, adding that the company signed a major export agreement earlier this year. "Our products and capabilities designed by Otokar's engineers are welcomed with great interest on the international arena and gain success. One of the best examples of this is the export agreement we signed with the United Arab Emirates in the first few months of this year," he said.

Other Turkish defense firms, ASELSAN and ROKETSAN, are also going to attend DSEI. The latter will present laser guided missile Cirit, long-range anti-tank missile UMTAS, laser guided long-range anti-tank missile L-UMTAS, medium-range anti-tank missile OMTAS, SOM-J Standoff Missile for JSF, and the Teber laser guidance kit with a view to developing new ties to boost exports with a wide array of products.
