Russia issues statement against Turkish anti-terror operations in northern Syria

Russia issued a statement on the Turkish anti-terror operations against the PKK in Iraq's Sinjar and Syria's Karachok town late Wednesday.

In the statement, the Russian foreign ministry said "Turkey's operations in Sinjar and Karachok are unacceptable."

Around 70 PKK terrorists and militants of its Syrian offshoot the People's Protection Units (YPG) have been killed in Iraq's Sinjar and northern Syria in Turkish anti-terror operations, military sources said Tuesday.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that Turkey informed Russia, the U.S. and Northern Iraq before conducting airstrikes.
