Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ held talks with U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions Monday concerning the extradition process for Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) leader Fetullah Gülen.

The meeting was held in U.S. Department of Justice headquarters in Washington, D.C. and lasted 45 minutes.

Ministry sources said that the meeting was mainly focused on the fugitive preacher's temporary arrest prior to the proposed extradition.

In the meeting, Bozdağ requested that the files sent by Turkey be transferred to the court as soon as possible.

The meeting was held in a "positive atmosphere," sources added.

Turkey, which detained and arrested thousands over having links to FETÖ in the aftermath of the bloody putsch bid that killed 248 people, has launched diplomatic efforts to terminate the terrorist group's activities around the world.
