President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is scheduled to hold a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at 5:00 p.m. New York time today. Erdoğan had said that he pays special importance to the meeting with U.S. counterpart, where both leaders will discuss several disagreements, including U.S. support to the PKK terrorist organization's Syria affiliate, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its armed wing, the People's Protection Units (YPG), as part of the fight against Daesh, the KRG's proposed referendum on Sept. 25 as well as the extradition of leader of the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), Fetullah Gülen, who has been living in the U.S. since 1999.

As part of the scheduled events during his visit, President Erdoğan will be meeting with members of the Turkish-American community and the Muslim American Society today in an event organized by the Turkish American National Steering Committee in New York. He is also scheduled to attend a photography exhibition by the Turkish Green Crescent Society.

On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, President Erdoğan was also expected to meet with Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Moldova Prime Minister Pavel Filip yesterday and attend an event organized by the Bloomberg Global Business Forum and a dinner event organized by the TURKEN Foundation.

Completing his official visit in the U.S., where he attended the U.N. General Assembly, Erdoğan is expected to return to Turkey later today.
