‘Peskov, how are you’: Erdoğan forgets about Kremlin aide’s fluent Turkish


An amusing interaction between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov took place when the two met last week in Russian Black Sea coastal city of Sochi.

After being greeted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Erdoğan saw Peskov standing near an entrance to the 'Rus' Health Resort, where a Turkey-Russia-Iran summit was held.

Turkish president walked up to the Kremlin aide, asking in English: "Peskov, how are you?"

Peskov responded by saying "Welcome" in Turkish.

"Why am I not saying 'iyi misin' [how are you] to you?" Erdoğan said in Turkish, chuckling after remembering about Peskovtarget="_blank"'>
