Industrial employment and hours worked increase


According to the data disclosed by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Turkey's industrial employment and hours worked in the industry increased by 0.5 percent in the third quarter of 2014 compared to the previous quarter.The third quarter's industrial labor input index showed that the seasonal and calendar-adjusted industrial employment index rose by 0.5 percent compared to the second quarter, while the calendar-adjusted industrial employment index increased by 2.2 percent compared to the same quarter of 2013.The index of hours worked in industry soared by 0.5 percent in the third quarter of 2014 compared to the previous one, while the calendar-adjusted hours worked rose by 1.3 percent compared to the same quarter of 2013.The seasonal and calendar-adjusted industrial gross wage and salary index increased by 3.6 percent in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter, while it rose by 15.5 percent compared to the same quarter of last year.
