Turkey’s top 100 valuable brands listed, Akbank stands on top


According to the eighth most valuable brands research conducted by global consultancy firm Brand Finance, which ranked Turkey's top 100 brands, Akbank stood at the top of the list with a $2.516 billion brand value, which had increased by more than $300 million since 2014.Akbank was in second place in 2014 after Türk Telekom, which is second place in 2015 with a $2.475 billion brand value. İşbank and Turkish Airlines are third and fourth with $2.445 and $2.219 billion brand values, respectively.The combined value of Turkey's top 100 brands stands at $35 billion at most, which is equal to a single global brand.Turkish banks Garanti with $1.953 billion, Yapı Kredi with $1.783 billion, Ziraat with $1.007 billion, Halkbank with $973 million, Vakıfbank with $725 million and Finansbank with $530 million were placed within the 20 most valuable brands in Turkey.Ranked in ninth position, BİM was announced as Turkey's most valuable brand in the retail sector with a $1.387 billion brand value, followed by Migros in the 18th position with a $547 million brand value. Turkcell, with a $1.7 billion brand value, was ranked seventh followed by Türk Telekom in communications. OMV Petrol Ofisi is the leading company in energy with a $748 million worth brand value and ranked 13th.Turkey's four largest sports clubs, Galatasaray at 30, Fenerbahçe at 46, Beşiktaş at 59 and Trabzonspor at 86 were also ranked within the top 100.Muhterem İlgüner, Brand Finance's Turkey director, emphasized the contrast between Turkey and the global list in terms of sectors. While 69 of Turkey's top 100 are firms operating in the services sector, 71 percent of the global top 500 are products.
