US payrolls increase by 223,000, below expectations


Non-agricultural employment in the U.S. has increased by 223,000 jobs, below market expectations, according to figures released by Labor Department on Thursday.An earlier Reuters inquiry indicated that the market expectation is around an increase of 230,000.The U.S. unemployment rate decreased to 5,3 percent, a seven year low figure, however, labor force participation rate which indicates the share of the working-age people in the labor force also decreased to 62.6 percent from 62.9 percent, the lowest since October 1977.The figure for job increase in May 2015 was also revised from 280,000 to 254,000.The US dollar tumbled below 2,69 against Turkish lira following the announcement.
