Turkey’s largest movie theater chain up for sale


Turkey's largest movie theater chain Mars will soon be up for sale and investment banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley will be authorized to carry out the process.A source speaking to Reuters stated all shares will be up for sale and authorization could be announced within 10 to 15 days.Founded in 2001, Mars operates 584 movie theaters in 27 cities and has a 50 percent box office market share.Actera Investment Group and Esas Holding currently holds 69.5 percent of the shares for Mars, while the remaining shares are controlled by the company's Board Chairman Muzaffer Yıldırım.Turkey's leading coach company, Kamil Koç is among businesses Actera holds in its shares, while Esas Holding is the parent company of Pegasus Airlines, Turkey's largest private airliner.
