Turkey's GDP grows 3.8 percent in the second quarter of 2015


Turkey's GDP grew by 3.8 percent at constant prices in the second quarter of 2015 when compared with the same quarter of last year and reached 32.93 billion Turkish liras, Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced on Thursday.The GDP increase over the same period at current prices was announced 12.6 percent, reaching TL 481.735 billion.Total added value of agriculture increased by 20.3 percent and reached to TL 30.369 billion at current prices and increased by 6.7 percent and reached to TL 2.357 billion at constant prices in the second quarter of 2015.Total added value of industries increased by 10 percent and reached to TL 119.581 billion at current prices and increased by 4.1 percent and reached to TL 11.118 million at constant prices in the same period.Total added value of services increased by 11.2 percent and reached to TL 273.826 billion at current prices and increased by 4.1 percent and reached to TL 18.742 billion at constant prices.Annual GDP in 2014 increased by 11.5 and reached to TL 1.747 trillion at current prices and increased by 2.9 percent and reached to TL 126.128 billion at constant prices.The per capita GDP in 2014 was TL 22,722 ($10,390) at current prices.Calendar adjusted gross domestic product in the second quarter of 2015 increased by 3.8 previous compared to the same quarter of previous year, while seasonally and calendar adjusted GDP increased by 1.3 percent in the same period.Household final consumption expenditure increased by 12 percent and reached to TL 329.236 billion at current prices and increased by 5.6 percent and reached to TL 21.39 billion at constant prices in the second quarter of 2015 compared to the same quarter of previous year.Government final consumption expenditure increased by 17.2 percent and reached to TL 72.493 billion at current prices and increased by 7.2 percent and reached to TL 3.515 billion at constant prices in the same period.Gross fixed capital formation increased by 20.4 percent and reached to TL 109.340 billion at current prices and increased by 9.7 percent and reached to TL 8.281 billion at constant prices.Exports of goods and services increased by 13.3 percent and reached to TL 134.795 billion at current prices and decreased by 2.1 percent and reached to TL 8.394 billion at constant prices.Imports of goods and services increased by 11.1 percent and reached to TL 155.760 billion at current prices and increased by 1.6 percent and reached to TL 9.128 billion at constant prices.
