Turkish Competition Authority (RK) fined Turkey's largest online food platform Yemeksepeti A.Ş. 427,977 Turkish liras ($146,000) for breaching rules of fair competition.

The board of the authority ruled unanimously against Yemeksepeti, which probed its practices of "most favored customer condition" imposed to restaurants, which blocks rival platforms to offer discounts, promotions and more extensive services through that restaurant.

Yemeksepeti enjoys a comfortable lead against its competitors with a market share over 90 percent.

International network of online food ordering platforms Delivery Hero has agreed to acquire Yemeksepeti in a $589 millon sale in May 2015, which was by far the largest e-commerce company acquisition in Turkish history.

Yemeksepeti is active in Turkey, Greece and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as well as Middle Eastern markets such as Qatar, Jordan and Saudi Arabia via the ordering platforms foodonclick.com and ifood.jo.
