Gold brings highest monthly, 6-month real return rates


In annual, 6-month, quarterly as well as monthly terms, gold (ingot) yielded the highest real return to investors in 2016, according to data released Tuesday by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat).Gold brought the highest monthly real return to investors in in July, with rates of 6.44 percent, according to the domestic producer price index (D-PPI), and 5.44 percent according to the consumer price index (CPI). According to both the D-PPI and CPI, gold brought the highest real return to its investors in quarterly, 6-month and annual terms. Quarterly, gold made a real profit of 10.09 percent according to the D-PPI and 9.97 percent according to the CPI, while losses from investments in stock exchange were 10.81 percent according to the D-PPI and 10.91 percent according to the CPI.Gold (ingot) made the highest real 6-month profit at 16.56 percent according to the D-PPI and 16.42 percent according to the CPI. For the same period, dollar investors saw the highest losses at 4.05 percent according to the D-PPI and 4.17 percent according to the CPI. For annual terms, the real profit rates of gold were 24.62 percent according to D-PPI and 19.09 percent according to the CPI. Over the same period, stock exchange investors saw the highest losses at 8.44 percent according to the D-PPI and 12.5 percent according to the CPI.
