Wall Street closed mixed Monday as banks' stocks declined but technology shares increased.

The Dow lost eight points to end trading at 21,629 and the S&P 500 fell less than a point to close flat at 2,459.

The Nasdaq, however, gained two points to finish the day at 6,314. The index closed higher for the seventh trading day in a row.

JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America each saw their stock prices decrease about 1 percent.

Twitter jumped 1.5 percent and Amazon rose 0.8 percent.
