Refugee Uighur children learning Turkish

A total of 150 Uighur children who fled from East Turkestan with their families and settled in Kayseri due to Chinese oppression receive Turkish, Uighur and Quranic lessons. The children are learning Turkish in order to be able to enrol in school in the next academic year and receive 10 hours of Quranic lessons a week in order to not forget their national and cultural values.

Stating that the lessons for Turkish, Uighur and the Quran will continue for four months, The Vice President of the World Uighur Congress and President of the People of East Turkestan Association, Seyit Tümtürk, said that 800 Uighurs are assigned to state houses. "We thank everyone who helped us to meet the daily needs of 800 people in the state houses. All philanthropists, especially the Governor of Kayseri, Orhan Düzgün, are doing everything they can for our brothers and sisters who migrated to Kayseri. We have initiated this program in order for Uighur children to enrol in Turkish schools and continue their education," he expressed.
