A school in the capital Ankara is set to roll out a unique coding and robotics program for Turkish preschoolers.

In the project conducted by Ankara's Chamber of Industry, children between the ages of 3 and 6 will be introduced to coding, robotic construction through 3D printers and the basics of computer algorithms.

The first classes will be at a preschool inside an industrial area that mainly educates children of factory employees and workshops in the area, but the program's organizers plan to introduce it to other schools in the near future.

The preschoolers will be trained on the basic functions of 3D printers, computer game coding and how to operate basic robots.

Several private schools already offer coding classes, but the classes in Ankara mark the first time that a state-run school will provide such classes to preschoolers.
