The third International Model United Nations Conference organized by the Istanbul-based Kartal Anatolian Imam-Hatip High School was launched Thursday with the theme of "Post-Truth and Justice."

The Kartal Anatolian Imam-Hatip High School's model U.N. conference (KAIHLMUN) aims to discuss the fact that the manipulated and distortional realities of current world policies garner more attention than objectivity nowadays.

The school's previous two international model U.N. conferences focused on the themes of "Change the Change" and "Human Dignity: Political, Economic and Social Intervention."

KAIHLMUN enables high school students to discuss widely the political, sociological and economical issues encountered in international relations with qualified groups, and provides them with the opportunity to write a declaration in English, Arabic and Ottoman Turkish.

Students from over ten countries including, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Austria, India, Pakistan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Romania, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Montenegro and Kosovo traveled to Turkey to participate in the international event, providing a great opportunity for cultural interaction while promoting global peace and friendship.

KAIHLMUN participants will be able to take part in eight committees, bridging the gap between historically-important past events and future projections.

The committees will oversee discussions on a variety of themes ranging from the effects of artificial intelligence on humans the reform of the United Nation Security Council, autonomous regions and independence, the Egyptian military coup and the Yemen Civil War, the Golf crisis, the Syrian Civil War and the Jerusalem issue.

KAIHLMUN'18 will last until February 25 and the committee's works will be performed by more than 250 participants at the Cevizli campus of Istanbul Medeniyet University.
