Turkish children set world record for largest open-air art exhibit


Some 11,000 students in eastern Turkey have each displayed their paintings to offer the biggest open-air children's painting exhibition, breaking the Guinness World Record Kids.

The Van province saw 11,000 paintings belong to students from 100 schools exhibited in the 7-kilometer (4-mile) Iskele street in the center of the city.

The open-air exhibition was held as part of the 100th anniversary of Van's liberation from enemy occupation, with the cooperation of Van Governorate, Van Yuzuncu Yil University and the Provincial National Education Directorate.

Orhan Kural, the chairman of the Registration and Arbitration Committee of Guinness World Records Kids was present to attest to the validity of the achievement.
