Senior AK Party official predicts minority government, early election


A senior official from Turkey's ruling AK Party said on Sunday, initial parliamentary election results suggested the party may be forced to form a minority government and that an early election could be on the cards."We expect a minority government and an early election," the senior official told Reuters on condition of anonymity.As more than 99 percent of the votes have been counted, AK Party currently stands at 258 deputies with 40.79 percent of the votes, 18 deputies short of the required 276 to form a majority government.
