CHP to keep MP lists mostly unchanged ahead of November 1 snap election

The Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the party will enter the snap election on November 1 with almost the same list of MPs from the June 7 general election during an exclusive live interview on Turkey's NTV news channel in Ankara.Stating that the current lists were formed through primaries, only minor changes will made Kılıçdaroğlu said, signaling a change in the lists in provinces where CHP showed a poor performance in the June 7 election."Our chances of forming a coalition or minority government were higher (than AK Party)," Kılıçdaroğlu said, implying that they could have persuaded the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli on critical issues on forming the government if President Erdoğan gave him the mandate.Meanwhile, Kılıçdaroğlu said that they do not plan to form an alliance with another party for the Nov. 1 election, however they will be open to support from other parties, if there are any offers.Kılıçdaroğlu defended CHP's policy on not taking part in Prime Minister and Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu's interim cabinet by pointing out to the recent decision that freezes all assignments in the public sector and requires the PM's approval for critical assignments. "Think of a minister that cannot even make assignments," Kılıçdaroğlu said, interpreting the decision as lack of trust against ministers.
