A recently published survey conducted by Infakto RW for the German Marshall Fund through face-to-face interviews with 1,024 people in 16 Turkish cities between Dec. 3 and Dec. 19, 2015 that asked about people's feelings after the Nov. 1, 2015 elections found 39.6 percent of participants often feel hopeful, 38.8 percent proud, 35.8 percent excited, 29.3 percent worried, 25.7 percent sad, 24.1 percent scared and 23.3 percent angry.The survey results were also broken down by political party affiliation. The majority of respondents who said they felt proud after the elections were Justice and Development Party (AK Party) supporters at 69.5 percent, followed by Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) supporters at 22 percent, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) supporters at 16.5 percent and Republican People's Party (CHP) supporters at 8.4 percent. Of the respondents who said they often feel worried, 51.7 percent were CHP supporters, 44.3 percent support the MHP, 37.7 percent of HDP supporters and 13.1 percent of AK Party supporters.The AK Party received 317 seats, the CHP received 137, the HDP received 59 and the Nationalist Movement Party received 40 seats in the Nov. 1, 2015 elections. The number of registered voters was reported to be 56,949,009 with 48,537,695 registered voters casting ballots for a turnout rate of 84.4 percent.
