State withdraws from oil distribution sector


The General Directorate of the Turkish Electromechanical Industry's (TEMSAN) 100 percent stake in the Turkish Petroleum Corporation's (TPAO) Distribution Corporation, which belongs to the Treasury, along with all public shares, have been included in a privatization program.The decision by the High Board of Privatization was announced in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, the Electric Generation Corporation's (EÜAŞ) Hopa Thermal Power Plant, the Bursa Natural Gas Plant, the Aliağa Combined Cycle and Gas Turbines (Aliağa KÇGT) Plant and the Kesikköprü, Derbent, Çamlıgöze, Köklüce, Almus and Yenice hydroelectric power plants have also been included in the privatization program with the immovable properties that they use, with the exception of premises that are used as recreational facilities by Aliağa KÇGT. The privatization decision also covers EÜAŞ's Adıgüzel, Kemer, Karacaören 1, Karacaören 2, Kepez 2, Manavgat, Fethiye, Kadıncık 1, Kadıncık 2, Doğankent, Kürtün, Torul, Seyhan 1, Seyhan 2, Yüreğir, Kılavuzlu, Menzelet, Tortum, Çamlıca 1 and Şanlıurfa hydroelectric power plants and the immovable properties that they use.The asset sale of the Hopa Thermal Power Plant, the Bursa Natural Gas Plant and the Aliağa KÇGT Plant and the immovable properties used by these plants will be privatized by a transfer utilization permit and/or granting operating rights.Additionally, the Kesikköprü, Derbent, Çamlıgöze, Köklüce, Almus, Yenice, Adıgüzel, Kemer, Karacaören 1, Karacaören 2, Kepez 2, Manavgat, Fethiye, Kadıncık 1, Kadıncık 2, Doğankent, Kürtün, Torul, Seyhan 1, Seyhan 2, Yüreğir, Kılavuzlu, Menzelet, Tortum, Çamlıca 1 and Şanlıurfa hydroelectric power plants and the immovable properties used by them will be privatized through the same method.The decision stipulates that the privatization process will be completed by Dec. 31, 2020.
