Russia's Gazprom increases gas exports to Europe


Russian energy company Gazprom increased the amount of natural gas exported to Turkey and Europe by 33.5 percent between Jan. 1 and March 15, compared to the same period in 2015.According to the written statement by the company CEO Aleksey Miller, during the aforementioned dates the total amount of natural gas that was exported to Europe (including Turkey but excluding Baltic States) by Gazprom was 36.5 billion cubic meters (bcm)."The total amount of natural gas exported to Turkey and Europe increased by a total of 9.15 bcm," said Miller. While Gazprom exported a total amount of 159.5 bcm of natural gas to Turkey and Europe last year, its forecast for total gas exports to the same countries for 2016 is 160 bcm.
